About Al
After 58 satisfying years as a practicing architect, in 2007 I retired. Now what? In my youth I studied painting at the Tyler Art School at Temple University in Philadelphia, and throughout my career, I continued to do freehand drawing while using ink, pencils, and color in my work.

From 1965 through 1971 I taught Architectural Construction Technology at IPFW. I recently decided to return to the campus as a student to pursue a degree in studio art.

I classify myself as a semi-abstract painter who likes to use intense colors and geometric forms which carry over from my architectural designs. At times my oil paintings
subconsciously express my feelings about social, political, or environmental issues that interest and concern me.
Painting gives me pleasure, serving as a form of relaxation and self-expression.
